I am planning to travel to Karlovac from Zagreb for a day trip. Any recommendations for where to rent a car for a day? I will need a car for 5 people. I will be staying at the Hotel International in Zagreb. Also, any recommendations for traveling from Zagreb to Karlovac without a car Bus or train, either will be fine.
Perhaps train would be handier since the central railway station is only 10 min walk from International hotel. Buses are also frequent and fast. My experience renting cars in cro is that national rent a car is the cheapest. Since it's a short trip from zagreb to karlovac, either the train or bus is fine. But since the train has standing room and a bathroom available for unexpected situations, i would recommend that over the bus. Then walk into and around the city through the small streets with in some places shanty houses ready to fall down.
If you want to see someting different and i mean different hire a car and drive to Sisak on the old road once past Zagreb airport you start to see wooden houses over years old on the old road you will be amazed and it will blow your mind away do not be afraid to stop and take photos residents are very helpful once in Sisak go for a meal at Restuarant Cocktail looks expensive but it not.
I have been travelling around Croatia and Bosnia in hire car since its great not one problem. This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity.
